Purpose of role:
The Data Solution Architect will work closely with the business lead and Senior Data Engineer to develop and design a robust data environment that supports Blackmores Group's AI initiatives. This role will focus on creating a scalable and efficient architecture for data, technology, APIs, and integrations, ensuring alignment with group policies and requirements. The Data Solution Architect will play a critical role in driving the success of AI initiatives by establishing the necessary infrastructure to handle complex data workflows.
Responsibilities include:
1. Design Data Architecture: Develop the overarching data architecture that supports AI initiatives, incorporating best practices for scalability, efficiency, and security.
2. Collaborate with Business and Technical Teams: Work with the business lead and Senior Data Engineer to identify technical needs and translate them into a comprehensive architecture that meets business requirements.
3. API and Integration Management: Design and manage APIs and integration points for seamless data flow across systems, ensuring that data is accessible, consistent, and secure.
4. Support AI Initiatives: Architect the data pipelines and systems that feed machine learning models, ensuring that data is structured, processed, and available to support advanced analytics and AI solutions.
5. Technology Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate new tools and technologies to determine suitability for the data architecture, keeping in mind long-term scalability and integration.
6. Prototype and MVP Development: Work with business stakeholders to rapidly develop prototypes and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to test and validate data solutions before full-scale implementation.
7. Documentation and Standards: Establish and maintain architectural documentation and design standards to ensure consistency and support scalability.
Who are you?
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, with a focus on designing and developing scalable solutions.
- Proven experience in designing data ecosystems for AI and ML initiatives, including both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of various Cloud infrastructures and specifically Google Cloud infrastructure, including Vertex AI, Big Query, and Cloud Storage.
- Experience working with API management tools and integration frameworks.
- 3+ years of experience with CI/CD, particularly in cloud environments, and familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise.
- Expertise in data modelling, data governance, and designing data solutions that comply with security and privacy regulations.
- Experience working with multiple data formats and integration methods, including JSON, XML, Parquet, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong collaboration.
