Job Description
This role sits within the Group Product Chapter Enablement Team, to define, manage and optimise the Group’s Product Master Data Capability (EPC) supporting quality, accessible and well governed Product Data and the resulting Master Product Lists (MPLs).
This role plays a pivotal role in supporting Westpac’s purpose of creating better futures for all our people, customers, communities and shareholders.
As part of the Group Product Chapter Enablement Team, you’ll:
- Define and drive the vision and strategy and roadmap for EPC, ensuring alignment with Westpac’s business goals and data governance standards.
- Data Quality and Governance - Oversee the accuracy, consistency, completeness, and accessibility of EPC, implementing processes for data integrity and compliance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration – act as the central point of contact between engineering, data teams, and business users to prioritise initiatives, define requirements, and deliver scalable solution that optimise data workflows and insights.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design & deliver the EPC data strategy and roadmap, aligned to Westpac’s strategy, regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
- Ensure data policies, governance and frameworks and compliance standards, are embedded within the management of EPC, including compliance with BAO and BOO accountabilities.
- Establish and oversee processes to maintain the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of product governance data, including identifying and resolving data quality issues.
- Collaborate with Product, Technology and Data teams to capture and document data attribute requirements, purpose, use, lineage and risk.
- Work with ecosystem vendors to determine adherence to contracts, version upgrades, future functionality and outage minimisation.
- Ensure EPC performance monitoring and reporting is fit for purpose to measure effectiveness and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

What do I need?
- Depth of previous Product experience, from a commercial perspective with a focus on data and analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Data Management or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic data platforms and programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an innovative, forward-thinking approach.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with a strong attention to detail; project management skills and meets tight timeframes and commitments and is accountable for results.
- Your ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse groups is critical to be successful in this role.
- Stakeholder engagement, strengths in written and verbal communication.
