Recognised in our sector by an extensive, reputable history and broad product range, Nintendo Australia is recruiting an IS Developer to join our team on a 12-month, fixed term contract basis.
Reporting into the Senior Application Specialist and working closely with the IS Department Team, Managers, and team members of other departments, this role is responsible for writing, installing, and connecting systems software and performing systems diagnostics when issues arise. In addition to this, the role is required to ensure the completion of installation, testing, and debugging of all Nintendo Australia business systems and all approved changes identified for the company.

Key requirements for the role include:
Liaising with the Senior Application Specialist to assure product performance through handling problems requiring considerable technical ability.
Repairing and correcting malfunctions as necessary in accordance with troubleshooting and maintenance roles.
Responding to requests for emergency repairs.
Completing documentation regarding work schedules performed and make notes of recommendations made to help overcome persistent problems.
Ensuring quality assurance and testing is completed on all Development.
The development of new software code and maintenance of existing software code.
To succeed in the role, you will require:
A minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Computer Science or higher.
3+ years’ experience in Java development, including core Java, J2EE and object-oriented programming concepts.
Expertise in CS fundamentals, including data structures, software design patterns, development and IT security best practices.
Relational Database experience (MySQL, SQL Server etc.) including solid SQL skills.
Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and jQuery.
Proficiency with Spring Framework.
REST API development.
Version control solutions (Perforce, CVS etc).
Familiarity with build automation tools such as Gradle or Maven.
Experience with JSPs, Eclipse, Visual IDEs, and Linux/Unix bash scripting highly beneficial.
