With a broad remit across credit risk strategy and decisioning, forecasting, portfolio analytics and controls monitoring, our Credit Risk Management & Data Science team is a key strategic interface between the business and a varied range of both internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll own
As our Director of Credit Risk, you will play a pivotal role in managing and driving all aspects of credit risk across the ANZ region.
Reporting to the Chief Credit Risk Officer (ANZ), this senior leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing credit risk strategies, frameworks, and models to support Zips sustainable growth ambitions while ensuring sound credit decisions, portfolio quality and robust risk controls. You’ll be responsible for:
- Credit risk strategy - Develop and execute the company’s credit risk strategy across the entire credit risk life cycle.
- Portfolio Oversight & Risk Analytics - Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Validation of all credit risk models, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s risk appetite.
- Regulatory & Compliance Requirements - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ASX reporting standards related to credit risk.
- Leadership & Team Development - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit risk professionals, including data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Build strong stakeholder relationships, working closely with senior leadership across product, technology, operations and compliance.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in credit risk management within the consumer lending / financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in leading and managing credit risk strategies in an ASX-listed or similarly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of credit risk modelling, portfolio management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., APRA, ASIC).
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, including data scientists, analysts, and other risk professionals.
- The ability to be hands on technically - Advanced skills in data analysis, predictive modelling, and risk measurement tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau or similar technologies).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing executive teams and boards.
