Focus of the Role
As a Human Resource Specialist, you provide support to the organisation’s leaders and employees (which may include subsidiary and related companies) in a specialist area of HR, such as case management or Employee Relations. You oversee the HR process for Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan.
You support a high-performance culture by working closely with the business in supporting HR and people related matters at both a tactical and strategic level. Your knowledge of HR policies, processes and employment obligations means you are an integral contributor to the delivery of people processes and initiatives that support our business objectives.

What You’ll Do
People, Culture and Communications - Wellbeing & Workplace Relations oversees Telstra's wellbeing and workplace relations programs.
In this role, you'll bring the purpose of your role to life working in a specialised team or CoE, you will provide subject matter expertise in the management of a range of employment matters, or delivery of employment related projects. Depending on the specialisation, these may include:
- Support the implementation of Employee Relations initiatives and programs to achieve the business’ people strategies.
- Provide advice to people leaders to support management of employee issues, including conduct management, workplace investigations, performance management, employee health and absence issues; and discrimination, bullying and harassment, matters
- Manage high risk and complex employee matters including: Whistleblower investigations, internal dispute resolution and redundancy appeals
- Advise on HR issues with deep understanding and knowledge HR policies and procedures legislation
- Represent the organisation in external matters at the Fair Work Commission and tribunals
- Provide support for organisational initiatives such as restructuring, enterprise bargaining and mergers & acquisitions.
- Participate in cross company HR/ people related projects.
About You
- Minimum 3 years of experience in local HR knowledge and policies.
- Understanding on local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Proficiency in using data to inform HR strategies and decisions.
- Expert knowledge in different HR functions such as, recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, training and development and reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional communications skills
