What will you do?
The Frontend Developer is responsible for building, and optimising web-based user interfaces and ensuring a seamless user experience. The role demands proficiency in front-end frameworks, libraries, and tools, along with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions is critical.
- Build, test, and optimise high-quality user interfaces using front-end technologies.
- Develop and maintain applications using JavaScript, focusing on React and related libraries.
- Develop and maintain responsive designs, ensuring compatibility across devices and browsers.
- Implement and maintain state management using tools like Redux or Context API.
- Retrieve and manipulate data using REST APIs and GraphQL.
- Optimise CSS for styling and load performance, ensuring high-quality user experiences.
- Leverage TypeScript for scalability and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align designs and functionality, delivering exceptional products
- Follow and enhance organisational coding standards and practices.
- Conduct robust testing following best practices
- Maintain version control standards within a team environment.
- Stay updated on the latest front-end development trends and tools.
- Participate in incident response efforts as per service-level agreements (SLAs), including after-hours emergencies when required.
Who are you & what will you bring?
Required
- Minimum 1-3 years of professional experience in front-end development.
- Proven experience in testing frontend code, automated testing using key libraries like cypress, playwright and/or react testing library.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Gitlab).
- Practical experience in ensuring accessibility and performance optimisation for web applications.
- Strong understanding of front-end development frameworks and libraries. For the front-end, we use React, Styled Components, GraphQL (Apollo Client), Typescript, Remix/React Router, Vite, Rollup, ESLint/Prettier.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Capability to diagnose and resolve UI/UX issues efficiently.
- Accuracy in identifying inconsistencies in design or code.
- Clear exchange of ideas with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration within cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to learn new technologies and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
- Efficiently meet deadlines while balancing multiple tasks.
- Enthusiasm for staying ahead of emerging trends in front-end development.
- Demonstrated expertise with:
- JavaScript, React, and affiliated libraries.
- Styling tools, including CSS-in-JS, Styled Components, or SCSS.
- API integration with REST and GraphQL.
Nice to haves
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Frontend or web development certifications are beneficial.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, such as AWS, Lambda, S3, SQS, Cloudfront, API Gateway, ECS, Cloudwatch, Cloudformation, and CDK.
