Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive integration test frameworks specifically for containerised applications, ensuring robust test coverage across all system components
- Perform manual testing for edge cases or scenarios where automation is not feasible, focusing on exploratory and regression testing for new and existing features
- Develop robust, scalable automation test suites using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or other leading automation frameworks.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines specifically for automated tests, including Docker build processes, test execution, and result reporting
- Validate the outputs of automated tests with manual test steps to confirm the accuracy and reliability of automated testing frameworks
- Implement testing in containerised environments using Docker and container orchestration tools, supporting both automated and manual approaches
- Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to optimise test infrastructure and ensure alignment with deployment processes
- Document and maintain a knowledge base for both manual and automated test cases, ensuring easy transition from manual to automated testing where applicable
- Analyse test results, identify patterns in test failures, and work with various teams to resolve complex integration issues
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects discovered during testing and provide detailed reports to development teams
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in both manual and automated testing
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 4-6 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation and integration testing
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) particularly for Docker-based builds and deployments
- Proficient in writing automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or others
- Experienced in setting up and managing automated tests in containerised environments using Docker and container orchestration tools
- Strong background in implementing robust error handling and logging mechanisms within test frameworks
- Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive test documentation and reporting systems
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes
- Experience with programming languages like JavaScript, Python, or Java
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with DevOps, development, and test teams
- Experience in testing web, mobile, and API-based applications is preferred
Good to Have
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools for test environments
- Knowledge of security testing in containerised environments
- Familiarity with performance testing in Docker environments
- Experience with microservices architecture testing
