The Role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced, innovative and forward-thinking Sales and people leader, to head up our group events sales team. You will be responsible for leading a large team of Event Sales professionals who sell Australis’s most iconic event spaces. Think large parties at Ivy, private weddings at Bert’s, Corporate events at Allianz stadium.
You are responsible for:
- The delivery and execution of Merivale’s Event Sales Strategy.
- Leading a strong guest experience focused sales team of varying levels of seniority.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement across the sales life cycle.
- Commercial management of Merivale’s events portfolio; Venues, Stadium, Off-premises.
Success in this role looks like building and developing a strong team, both culturally and commercially though driving excellence in guest experience, achieving sales targets, building and implementing a strategy that will support business objectives. We will be looking at you to challenge the status quo and drive a new way of thinking when it comes to business growth and guest experience.
The Head Of Sales works closely with several different departments, as well as operational teams in venue. Strong influencing, stakeholder and change management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly will be paramount to your success.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- Extensive knowledge of Sales and Customer service with proven results in achieving targets.
- 5+ years of experience leading a high performing team.
- Ability to drive revenue and increase growth across different business aspects.
- Experience in successfully developing growth strategies utilising data and insights.
- Have a proven track record when it comes to delivering financial sales performance.
- A passion for the hospitality industry and for providing outstanding guest experience.
