How will I help?
The Principal Network Engineer is responsible for defining service strategy and reference Engineering and developing service or pattern design, leading to robust, flexible and quality Infrastructure services and solutions.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for setting and maintaining Infrastructure Service Strategy in close collaboration with Infrastructure Architecture
- Assists Service Owners in defining a portfolio specific service strategy & roadmap.
- Responsible for ensuring new service or pattern design adheres to Westpac’s specified design blueprints, roadmaps and standards.
- Participates in Infrastructure Service Engineering governance with the aim of ensuring adherence to standards & policies.
- Ensures Operational Readiness and Design & Control Assurance are adhered to at each agreed Solution Engineering Life Cycle stage gate.
- Leads Infrastructure service strategy translation from Enterprise Infrastructure strategy and maintains service strategy for Infrastructure portfolios.
- Leads and reviews development of pattern design and blueprints for end-to-end operational Infrastructure services.
- Responsible for providing key technology inputs to Service Catalogue Management and ensures information mentioned in Service Catalogue is accurate Performs
detailed analysis of Service Design requirements to understand infrastructure feasibility, costing, effort estimates, and support required from partners/vendors.
- Provides Technical Leadership to the team.

What do I need?
- Seven+ years’ experience in IT/Engineering/Architecture including at least two years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Five years’ experience in service delivery operations and a broad range of IT platforms and disciplines.
- Three years recent experience in large-scale infrastructure deployment projects.
- Three years’ experience in a financial services industry desirable.
- Two years recent experience in working with Architects and management teams in relation to large scale infrastructure design, planning and project management frameworks.
- Three + years management experience incorporating financial management and business case development of large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required Education.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Design experience across a broad section of IT Services.
- Strong technical background in multiple Infrastructure domains.
