THE ROLE
As our VFX Supervisor, you’ll oversee and shape the creative aspects of high-end VFX production across multiple projects. You’ll be the driving force behind complex, long-form projects—scoping work with precision, crafting accurate quotes, and striking the perfect balance between artistic ambition, timelines, and budgets. Your creative leadership will shape the process, keeping projects on track and delivering exceptional results on time.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Partner with producers and directors to shape the creative and technical vision for episodic and feature-length projects.
• Lead script and sequence breakdowns, mapping out workload, resource allocation, and production timelines.
• Spearhead the development of detailed bids and quotes, ensuring alignment with client goals and studio standards.
• Oversee every stage of production—from on-set supervision to final delivery—ensuring seamless, high-calibre VFX execution.
• Guide multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining creative cohesion across all aspects of production.
• Collaborate across Formation Effects’ global network, bridging in-house teams and external partners for a unified creative workflow.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and mentorship, supporting artists refine their craft and grow within the studio.
WHO YOU ARE
• Proven experience as a VFX Supervisor with a track record in feature films or high-end episodic series.
• An expert in creature, character, and FX-heavy VFX pipelines, with a dedication to making them feel real.
• Comfortable working with both practical and digital effects, ensuring seamless hybrid solutions.
• Adept at presenting creative concepts and technical strategies to stakeholders, clients, and productions.
• Passionate about mentoring and developing talent, cultivating the next generation of VFX artists.
• Familiarity with software such as Houdini, Nuke, Maya, and Unreal Engine.
• Strong ability to produce accurate bids, breakdowns, and schedules for complex projects.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on leadership and team motivation.
• Experience managing both remote and in-house teams across multiple locations.
