The Westpac Banking Platform domain is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on providing advanced solution design and technical leadership expertise in delivering solutions for Loan Originations and Secured/Unsecured Lending projects. The Banking Platform team is involved in several exciting projects aimed at enhancing features for our Digital, Lender, and Broker Channels.In this role, you will develop 'fit for purpose' IT and business solutions to meet the diverse requirements across the Mortgages Platform portfolio. You will predominantly operate in an Agile environment, supporting technology capabilities to effectively deliver value to customers.
Your key responsibilities include:
As an Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Ensuring that the system design & code balances functional, service quality, security and systems management requirements.
• Collaborate with diverse teams across the bank, including Solution Designers, Functional Analysts, QA Engineers, and Project Teams, to maintain strong relationships and ensure technology requirements are well understood.
• Provide strong technical expertise to develop functional and technical solutions with the goal of providing reliable, stable and operationally sound applications that meet business requirements

What do I need?
To excel in this role, candidates should bring the following experience and skills:
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience are desirable.
• Knowledge of or some exposure to the Oracle Banking Platform, including modules such as Loan Management, Customer Onboarding, Collateral Management and Payment Processing.
• Experience in banking domains, ideally in Loan Originations, Lending (Secured/Unsecured), Digital Origination, and Integration using REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Oracle Banking APIs and frameworks for integration and customization.
• Experience with Oracle Database performance tuning and optimization techniques for banking applications.
• Experience with Core banking implementations is advantageous.
• Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Documaker will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in JAVA, J2EE, Oracle BPM, OBP Host, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), REST API, Microservices, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with Oracle ADF and Oracle SOA.
• Proficient with Oracle WebLogic Server, Apache Tomcat.
• Experience with web services, WSDL, SOAP, XSD, XML, JSON/YAML.
• Proficient with Oracle 12c or other SQL databases.
• Proficient in Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with version control using BitBucket.
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Skills in issue root cause analysis using tools like Splunk, SQL Developer, and AppDynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating an open, clear, and engaging manner.
