About the Team & the Position
The Digital Division enables the delivery of AEMO’s obligations through technology and improves outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. Digital provides services to internal AEMO business units, employees, contractors, subsidiaries such as AEMO Services Ltd, external government bodies and market participants.
Working closely with the Digital Leadership Team and other key stakeholders, the purpose of the role is to lead a team of specialists to develop and implement contract management strategies, manage strategic supplier relationships and drive digital contracting improvements and innovation. The role will be accountable for establishing negotiation strategies, overseeing contract lifecycle management, and driving value through savings and productivity improvements.
Position Responsibilities

Recruitment and management of a team of four to five commercial specialists to deliver the Digital Supplier Engagement and Governance teams capabilities and functions including goal setting and planning, performance management, resource allocation and training and development
- Manages the contractual relationships with Digital suppliers and ensures potential disputes or conflicts are raised and resolved, including services (Digital Services Panel), software and hardware suppliers.
- Manages implementation of Digital supplier service improvement actions. Identifies constraints and opportunities when negotiating or renegotiating contracts
- Manages Supplier Relationship Management framework including supplier segmentation, governance framework and supplier performance management.
- Develops and implements process improvements across all aspects of the digital supplier landscape.
- Maintains the SFIA skills and capability inventory and identifies options for closing gaps in collaboration with relevant key stakeholders.
- Develops and oversees execution of strategies for strategic sourcing events related to Digital products and services
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Relevant experience in real time, business critical technology environments in a leadership role
- Demonstrable experience in contract management, process improvement and/or project management
- Demonstrable knowledge of IT budgeting, cost management, and financial planning to manage IT spending effectively.
- Managing complex and competing priorities. Decision making in ambiguity.
- Strong leadership experience and success in developing individuals and teams. Building relationships and trust at all levels
- Managing budgets and controlling costs
- Risk awareness and management of risks within roles’ control
Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education/ professional Certifications:
- Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate commerce, accounting, business, or similar qualification
