The Digital Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for leading instructional design excellence, by crafting contemporary, engaging and effective learning solutions that incorporate evidence based educational design principles. They will leverage technology and innovative tools to enhance the quality, accessibility, and engagement of learning experiences for caregivers.
In addition, the Digital Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for optimising the Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring its efficient operation and seamless user experience. This includes managing the technical aspects of the LMS to ensure it functions efficiently, delivering a seamless learning experience for caregivers.
The role also involves evaluating the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives through data analysis and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
The Position
Source, develop and implement high-quality contemporary digital learning outputs, using a variety of digital learning solutions such as simulation, video, animation, and gamification.
Provide subject matter expert advice and guidance to the Group and Local Learning & Development teams in the implementation of digital learning solutions that support a continuous learning approach.
Project delivery experience with demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects to time and budget.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines on multiple projects, with the ability to be proactive and use initiative
Support and contribute to identifying and prioritising learning needs aligned to SJGHC Strategic priorities and workforce needs.
Scope, design, develop and support implementation and evaluation of a variety of high-quality, learner-centred standardised education programs as identified through needs assessment and prioritisation.
Design, develop or source a variety of learning materials, suited to the identified audience using a variety of teaching modalities to meet learner’s needs. These may include online modules, workshops, facilitator guides, assessments and videos.
Integrate contemporary adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, research principles, current legislative requirements and best practice standards to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
Provide high-quality visual designs that scaffold complex concepts appropriately for the target audience
Maintain flexibility when managing multiple responsibilities and projects.
Lead the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Learning Management System.
Upskill local L&D teams to enable their self-service, run reports and meet individual hospital/service’s needs.
Support organisation learning compliance reporting to key stakeholders.
All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor.
You will have relevant formal qualifications in education, instructional design, digital learning or related field or extensive relevant experience. You will have significant demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and change management principles. Experience in the integration (planning, testing, and implementation) of new technologies updates and third-party supporting products with excellent knowledge and experience of learning management systems and embedding LMS knowledge and application (experience in Workday Learning is highly advantageous). Advanced proficiency with authoring software such as Articulate 360 Suite, multimedia, content publishing, Microsoft suite and learning management systems is vital.
To succeed you will be highly organised with attention to detail as well as solution focused with a strong team player mindset who uses written and verbal communication skills to work toward personal, team and organisational goals. You will have good project management and change implementation skills with a high level of graphic design skill and experience developing storyboards. You will be a tech native, self-starter, able to visualise and adapt technology solutions to meet organisational need. Excellent communication skills including collaborating, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills within a multifunctional team across multiple sites is essential.
