Join the Melbourne Market Authority (MMA) as a Marketing and Events Coordinator and play a pivotal role in enhancing our communications, marketing initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities:
Content Development:
- Craft and curate engaging content across all social media platforms.
- Collaborate on the weekly newsletter and assist in producing various MMA publications such as correspondence, online content, news articles, presentations, annual reports, brochures, and documentation.
- Create dynamic short video pieces to support communication goals.
- Conduct regular market floor visits to gather insights (e.g., seasonality, new products) to inform campaigns and PR strategies.
- Design and implement advertising strategies including signage and digital displays.
Marketing:
- Manage updates and maintenance for the Melbourne Market website and app, ensuring consistent application of MMA’s brand across all platforms.
- Aid in the creation of both internal and external marketing materials.
Events Management:
- Plan and execute both internal and external events, promotions, and engagements.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to facilitate the onboarding of new market buyers, including organizing tours and introductions to key vendors.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A dynamic marketer with at least 1-2 years of experience, ideally with a background in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- A creative and proactive individual with a deep understanding of social media trends and the ability to generate engaging content.
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is keen on using their skills to drive the team’s marketing and communication efforts forward.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in creating and editing video and photographic content
- Basic graphic design skills with tools like InDesign and Canva.
- Ability to write creative briefs, translate ideas into compelling stories, and organize detailed social media strategies.
- Analytical skills to evaluate social media insights and other data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, grammar, and proofreading skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with graphic design and video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Work Schedule:
- This role requires flexibility to work early shifts (6 AM starts) 2-3 times per week to engage actively with the market community.
