What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Digital Designer to create visually compelling, user-friendly designs across our marketing channels. From websites and landing pages to social media, blog illustrations, and email campaigns, your work will help bring Fastmail’s brand to life.
Working closely with the Head of Design and cross-functional teams, you’ll create clear, consistent designs that align with our brand. This role balances creativity with attention to detail, giving you the chance to work independently while also collaborating across teams.
We’re after a self-motivated, organised, and friendly team player with a passion for digital design and best practices. This full-time role is based in our Melbourne office, with a hybrid work setup (3 days in-office). You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team collaborating with colleagues across Australia, the US, and India.
Salary: Please note, at Fastmail we have implemented a transparent and fair pay framework. This role has a base salary of $93,738.29 plus superannuation.
RequirementsWhat you’ll do
As a Digital Designer at Fastmail, you’ll:
- Deliver a wide range of digital assets across social media, blog posts, email campaigns, landing pages, microsites, and occasional print materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams to scope and deliver digital projects efficiently.
- Apply UX/UI thinking to marketing and campaign work, ensuring designs aren’t just beautiful — they’re usable, accessible, and effective.
- Maintain and evolve Fastmail’s visual assets to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints.
- Communicate your design decisions clearly — sharing work early, gathering feedback, and balancing asynchronous updates with in-person collaboration.
- Stay adaptable and open to change, working with shifting priorities and evolving project scopes.
- Keep up with design trends, tools, and best practices — bringing fresh ideas to the team and helping us continuously improve.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of professional digital design experience, ideally including time in-house at a tech company.
- A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or a related field.
- Experienced in delivering a mix of digital marketing campaigns, landing pages/microsites, and UX/UI design work.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design, and how design choices affect usability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills — you’re comfortable presenting your work, giving and receiving feedback, and keeping projects on track.
- Ability to self-manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail — from typography to accessibility, from pixel-perfect layouts to accessible colour contrasts.
- A creative, problem-solving mindset, always looking for ways to make designs stand out while staying on-brand.
