Full-Time
$180,648.00 per annum inclusive of the superannuation guarantee
There’s never been a better time to join the WALGA Marketing Team, with all our brand assets in place and a line-up of exciting campaigns and projects to deliver.
The Manager Marketing reports directly to the Executive Manager Advocacy and works closely with our Manager Media and Communications and Senior Advisor Events. Having a team of highly engaged subject matter experts to support you means that you will really be able to focus on driving the marketing strategy and key campaigns – although when the time comes, we all come together and collaborate for the big events.
Why you’ll love this role
As an important leadership role in the Advocacy team, you will provide expert advice to the varied portfolios across WALGA and maintain a highly visible presence within the business.
You are collectively responsible for amplifying the voice and enhancing the profile and perception of WALGA and the Local Government sector, through contemporary marketing campaigns, initiatives and strong stakeholder relations.
As the Manager Marketing, you will also be instrumental in defining and driving our marketing objectives. This role involves shaping and executing marketing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and strengthening key stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with WALGA’s strategic initiatives.
You will:
Provide Leadership: Inspire and lead a high-performing marketing team by fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and excellence.
Execute Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy in line with WALGA’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan.
Lead Campaign Management: Oversee creative marketing campaigns, research and insights.
Diverse Exposure: Build strategic alliances with key stakeholders to enhance WALGA’s profile and advance advocacy outcomes.
Lead Digital Projects: Manage major digital transformation projects and provide internal support for digital initiatives.
Champion Brand Management: Ensure brand consistency, increase awareness and build brand equity.
About you:
If you see a creative solution to every business challenge and thrive on measurable outcomes, this could be the role for you. We’re looking for someone who can inspire a high performing team, with high-level of interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
A thorough understanding of the marketing process, techniques, and data analysis goes without saying but what will set you apart is the ability to demonstrate case studies of successful campaigns, a track record of managing competing priorities and influencing stakeholders to drive an organisational outcome.
Why you’ll love working here:
In addition to 6 weeks’ (30 days) annual leave and a suite of flexible working options, our West Leederville office is centrally located within easy reach of public transport, bike paths and paid parking options. We also provide excellent end of trip facilities for those arriving by alternate methods of transport.
Our Thrive wellbeing program means you’ll get to enjoy regular activities and initiatives (in fact we could be at a lunch and learn or a healthy mind class whilst you’re reading this!)
We pride ourselves on offering a safe and inclusive culture with fantastic workplace benefits and entitlements, including setting budget aside for professional development. What we are most proud of is getting the chance to work on niche and interesting projects, with some incredibly talented people, on issues that matter.
We also have an active social club to cater for all interests, and if that doesn’t give you enough of a feel for our vibe, we can offer you a book club, trivia nights and we’re committed to being a menopause friendly employer.
So, when we say we look after our people and each other, we mean it.
