The Opportunity: As Communications Officer (Digital), you’ll shape how we communicate and create compelling content. You’ll play a key role in connecting our community with the work we do. Based in Bairnsdale, this full-time role offers great flexibility and a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain compelling content for Council’s website and intranet.
- Develop and execute digital campaigns to inform and engage the community.
- Build Council’s social media presence and drive innovative digital engagement.
- Write and edit communications materials for various audiences and platforms.
- Provide training and advice on digital media strategies across the organisation.
- Provide a photography and videography service for Council content.
Based in Bairnsdale, this is a full-time, ongoing position.
What we’re looking for (Key Selection Criteria)
- Qualifications in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or a related field or a minimum of three years’ experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and in media related issues management.
- Highly developed understanding of communication, marketing, social media and digital media best practices.
- Exceptional writing skills that can be adapted for media releases, social media, web content, general report writing, and letters recognising the different mediums and styles required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in social media.
- Experience using a content management system and writing for the web.
- Experience producing targeted media, including online delivery, and effective liaison with various media organisations.
- Demonstrated digital project management skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and you must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
