About the Role
The Mid - Senior Digital Marketing Specialist at Canstar will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic, multi-channel CRM and EDM campaigns that drive customer engagement and retention. Reporting directly to the Marketing Lead, this position offers a fantastic opportunity for mentorship and professional growth, with the ultimate goal of developing this individual into a subject matter expert, and eventually progressing into leadership roles such as Team Lead or Manager.
Key Responsibilities

CRM Strategy, Engagement, and Retention: Design and execute CRM strategies that drive adoption, engagement, and retention. Manage end-to-end customer lifecycle marketing activities, including campaign development, asset creation, execution, and reporting. Use data and behavioural insights to identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling products, and generate reports to measure the impact of marketing efforts and identify growth opportunities

Personalized, Data-Driven Campaigns: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver personalised experiences that enhance customer satisfaction. Resolve customer-related issues and ensure campaigns are aligned with business objectives. Optimise campaign performance to drive return traffic, increase engagement, and create brand-aligned processes

Workflow Wizard and Database Management: Develop and implement automated marketing campaigns, optimising workflows and event triggers to guide customers through the funnel. Manage data flow between systems to ensure accurate segmentation and data integrity, and work with stakeholders to deliver targeted communications. Streamline consent management and ensure data usage complies with legal and regulatory standards

Project Contributions: Support Canstar and pioneer new strategic projects that contribute to the company's growth and success.
What You’ll Need
- Strong strategic and executional skills in CRM and email marketing, with the ability to develop and deliver high-impact campaigns.
- Familiarity with CRM tools like More Engage or Braze (or similar platforms such as Intercom, Dot Digital, SFMC, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Active Campaign, Litmus).
- Experience with analytics and tracking tools like Amplitude, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google Analytics (GA).
- Basic design skills using Adobe Photoshop, Figma, or Canva, and familiarity with content management platforms like WordPress.
- Some knowledge of financial products or consumer products would be advantageous, whether from in-house experience or agency work.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in developing and implementing CRM strategy and optimising customer lifecycle journeys using enterprise-level ESP, CRM or Marketing Automation tools.
- Strong track record of delivering measurable results through lifecycle and omnichannel marketing campaigns.
- Proficient in Google Analytics to optimise journeys and offer recommendations
- Excellent attention to detail with a data-driven mindset to inform strategies and optimise performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of data privacy and consent rules.
- Experience in building/modifying email templates with HTML and CSS.
- Experience with or understanding of WordPress or similar Content Management Systems.
- Basic skills in Photoshop, Figma or other design programs, or a willingness to learn.
