Data Scientist - Maritime
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our Maritime Defence team at K39 Consulting. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to analyse and interpret complex maritime data sets, develop predictive models, and derive actionable insights to enhance our defence capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, a deep understanding of the maritime and Defence sectors, and the ability to translate data-driven insights into strategic decisions. You will also have the ability to translate customer requirements in to data driven outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse extensive maritime and defence-related data sets using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Develop and implement predictive models to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency in maritime Defence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval experts, engineers, and IT professionals, to identify and address data-driven challenges specific to the maritime defence sector.
- Explore and integrate new data sources, such as satellite imagery, sensor data, and logistical information, to enhance data analysis capabilities.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to senior leaders, stakeholders, and decision-makers within the Defence industry.
- Build, maintain, and optimise data pipelines and infrastructure to support robust data analysis and reporting.
- Enable performance improvement by producing actionable insight from data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience analysing large and complex maritime or defence-related data sets using statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
