An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Developer to join the Better Revenue Outcomes team in Revenue NSW Digital Taxes.
Revenue NSW is transforming tax compliance with the innovative Better Revenue Outcomes program. We're investing in data matching and visualisation, improving how we detect non-compliance and enhancing digital communication - all to help our customers better understand their tax obligations. The program will deliver an additional $568m in revenue over 4 years.
In this role you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of large and complex applications and systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable and secure. You will utilise your expertise to support and coach junior IT professionals ensuring that delivered solutions meet the business needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Be a hands-on developer while supporting team members and ensuring that delivered solutions meet the business needs and adhere to coding and design standards.
- Have demonstrated experience in coaching and providing guidance and training to less experienced IT professionals.
- Promote and support agile / scrum development practices.
- Be strong in forming collaborative relationships with business partners, professional stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and other team members.
- Translate user stories into deliverable modules.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving the production incidents related to the application the team is supporting.
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to manage customer expectations.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Solid experience in Python development, data modelling.
- Experience with ETL process, Lambda function, Rest APIs, Microservices and Microservice patterns.
- Solid development experience in AWS Lambda, AWS Glue.
- Experience in Event driven data CDC, AWS Terraform.
- Experience in writing Unit and Integration tests for Python and Lambda or ETL functions.
- Experience in SQL Queries, Oracle Queries.
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline is desirable.
- Experience in GIT, nice to have Gitlab experience but not mandatory.
- Understanding of serverless components and pattern in AWS.
- Good to have ReactJS exposure.
