The Assistant Manager performs a variety of Marketing activities, particularly in the planning and development of marketing initiatives. This is a 360 role, owning the brand’s end-to-end planning and execution, including brand plans, new product development (NPD), promotion and communication campaign
What you will be exposed to:
• Increasing brand market share and sales growth via planning and developing marketing strategies and annual marketing plans, as guided by Senior Manager.
• Defining, optimising and monitoring A&P budget to ensure delivery of commercial outcomes and expenses are kept within approved limits.
• Responsible for end-to-end marketing planning activities including new product planning and development, trade promotions, media campaign management and execution, new product launches, below-the-line promotions.
• Prepare and present business by undertaking in-depth analysis of channel sales performance, competitors’ review, market analysis for the designated brands, as guided by Senior Manager.
• Collect and analyse market trends and insights, and sales data to identify key issues and growth opportunities, in order to make an informed NPD and marketing strategies.
• Supporting brand planning and management work with internal stakeholders within Oriental Merchant’s Group of Company. Activities including driving new product development, packaging design harmonization, delivering communication materials aligned with corporate brand guidelines and other related marketing activities.
• Providing regular brand tracking information to monitor market performance, brand performance against KPIs and competition.
• In close co-operation with the Trade Marketing team, develop and execute smoothly and effectively promotion plans (consumer and trade).
• Preparing and presenting briefs to agency partners with regards to development of creative and media plans, campaign activation such as sampling and events.
• Preparing point of sales material for both mainstream supermarkets and ethnic marketing activities, e.g. in store sampling, merchandising, event and trade promotion
• Monitoring and visiting mainstream supermarkets and ethnic stores to check the sales off take of the products, competitive pricing and competitor promotional and new product activities.
• Identifying and organizing sponsorship activities for both mainstream and ethnic market that leverage and support marketing strategy
• Tracking, analyzing and reporting the results of events and marketing campaigns
• Perform other tasks assigned by Senior Manager as required
We are looking for candidates with:
• 2-3 years of brand or product management experience.
• FMCG background with exposure to working on new product development and media campaigns would be preferred.
• Experience in food business is an added advantage.
• Experience in analytical, numerical skills and ability to interpret data are critical.
• Experience in using Nielsen Scantrack, Quantium, IRi Unify and SAP.
• Good presentation skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong sense of accountability, proactive attitude, agile mindset and readiness to learn.
• Multi-task, able to prioritise, attention to details
• Team work and a passion to drive positive outcomes
