About the role:
The Program Director is a senior leadership role requiring domain expertise in banking (preferably business banking) and a proven track record of delivering complex programs successfully. This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of key large-scale transformation programs within the organisation.
The role will work closely with C-suite executives, business unit leaders, and cross-functional teams to ensure transformation project delivers tangible business outcomes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer value.
What you'll do:
Program Leadership:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale banking transformation program, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage end-to-end program lifecycles, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and stakeholders, providing clear updates and insights on program progress and challenges.
- Foster strong collaboration across business units, including compliance, technology, and operations.
Risk and Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate program risks, maintaining robust governance frameworks.
- Ensure the program adheres to external regulations and internal compliance standards.
Team Leadership:
- Collaborate with functional leads to allocate resources effectively and resolve conflicts.
- Build and mentor high-performing program team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
Change Management:
- Lead organisational change initiatives associated with program deliverables, ensuring successful adoption across teams.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to manage expectations and drive engagement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, utilising lessons learned from past projects to enhance future delivery capabilities.
- Introduce and implement best practices for transformation delivery and program management.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years of experience in program management within the banking industry, preferably in business banking.
- Banking Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of banking operations, regulations, and trends, with a preference for experience in business banking.
- Program Management Expertise: Proven experience in delivering large-scale, complex programs, including compliance and technology transformation initiatives in banking.
- Strategic Thinking: Capability to align programs with organizational strategy and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders, including executives and board members.
- Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within regulatory and technological contexts.
- Change Management: Strong experience in leading organizational change, especially related to process improvement, technology adoption, and regulatory shifts.
- Agility and Problem Solving: Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and solve complex problems effectively.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear reporting and alignment with stakeholders.
