What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Building efficient and reusable backend abstractions and systems
- Working closely with stakeholders and content designers to create world-class content structure and management
- Collaborating within and across teams to create wholistic solutions
- Identifying and improving practices and methodologies for backend engineering
- Finding opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements
- Empowering and mentoring other engineers
You're probably a match if
- You are a strong proficiency in our core technology environment - Java, MySQL, ElasticSearch
- You have the ability to write performant, efficient code, including appropriate testing
- You enjoy working collaboratively with team members, communicating effectively, and taking ownership of projects and outcomes
- You’ve perfected the balance between big-picture thinking and nailing the details.
- You're excited by the opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing and critical function of Canva and connect with improving the help experience for millions of people around the world
About the team
The Help Content and Findability team is part of the User Voice supergroup, dedicated to empowering every user with the tools and support they need to create amazing designs.
