About the Role:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Commerce team which is part of the core platform organization within Splunk cloud. The main focus of the team is to provide a set of services to enable Splunk product onboarding and automating the existing Splunk product delivery process.
What you’ll get to do:
- Own and be accountable for the delivery of multiple features to enhance the Splunk onboarding experience for products and customers.
- Design and implement APIs needed for the same.
- Help scale our backend systems in a performant, secure, and reliable way.
- Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of frameworks and backend components and mentor junior engineers, to help develop their technical skills, communication and careers.
- Help identify and develop ways to improve our team's productivity and efficiency by expanding on our existing tools and processes.
- Participate in on-call rotation of the team where you will get an opportunity to work on real customer incidents and improve on that.
What We Offer You:
- A constant stream of new things for you to learn. We're always growing into new areas, bringing in open source projects and contributing back, and exploring new technologies.
- A set of exceptionally hardworking and dedicated peers including cross functional peers.
- We give our engineers an environment in which they can contribute from day one while also providing opportunities for learning and growth.
- We believe in growing engineers through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe mentors help both sides of the equation.
- A stable, collaborative and encouraging work environment.
- We don't expect people to work 12-hour days. We want you to have a successful time outside of work too. We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time and commitment, and believe that balance helps cultivate an outstanding environment.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 3 years with a Masters in Computer Science, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

- Understanding of modern cloud infrastructure backend best practices.
- Experience in the implementation of complex technical architectures with a team.
- Eligible to support a FedRAMP High environment (US only).
