About the Role
As a Fraud Scam Prevention Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for working together with stakeholders across the business to protect our customers against fraud and scams; minimise losses for ANZ and our customers whilst creating minimal customer experience friction. The Fraud Scam Prevention Senior Analyst uses analytical techniques to utilise internal and external data/indicators to identify compromises and fraud trends and come up with prevention and detection strategies to mitigate the risk and exposure. This role is required to have a deep understanding of upcoming initiatives which would impact the business and provide input into the potential for fraud exposure. This role is required to lead by example for other team members and provide guidance to help improve the skills of the entire Analytics team.

What will your day look like?
As a Fraud Scam Prevention Senior Analyst, you are accountable for:
- Minimise ANZ’s exposure to fraud and scams, identify trends and areas for opportunity to improve rules and strategies
- Closely work with Fraud & Scams Operations to keep abreast of key fraud and scam trends they are observing and pass on own observations and knowledge of emerging fraud trends
- Minimise customer disturbance in the detection of fraud through efficient detection and prevention techniques with low false positive ratios and minimisation of unnecessary account restrictions
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of key metrics & performance and insights packs. Regularly update business stakeholders on fraud losses and trends
- Play a pivotal role in the analysis and implementation of new strategies to improve Fraud and Scam detection
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of declined transactions to decrease customer impact
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with business stakeholders to drive strategies to mitigate fraud risk in existing processes and new initiatives
- Network with other financial institutions and industry bodies to maintain best practice in Fraud prevention and detection
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical training to junior team members
- Create a culture within the Analytics team to challenge the status quo
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Demonstrated experiences with fraud analysis
- Strong analytics experience
- Strong customer focus and ability to implement solutions to minimise customer effort
- Proven strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced technical skills experience with SQL & Analytical language (SAS, R etc)
- Extensive banking product and Industry knowledge.
