The Opportunity
Cochlear has an opportunity for a Systems Specialist (Technical Writer) based in our (Sydney -Macquarie) office. In this role, the successful Systems Specialist will create and manage documentation for manufacturing and new product introductions, update parts configurations, and also create and facilitate changes to keep things moving within Manufacturing.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and edit documents for Manufacturing and Process Engineering.
- Configure and manage parts and BOM structures for Cochlear products.
- Start and manage end-to-end change process for updates to documentation or parts.
- Deliver Day to day tasks within established procedures and processes.
- Accountable to specific deliverables against targets within the area of expertise.
- Use judgement and interpretation over the short-term to solve problems, despite established techniques, procedures & processes.
- Develop trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and simply technical data to stakeholders.
- Solve problems through analysis based on technical knowledge; some problems may require additional thinking/interpretation based on technical knowledge.
- Support SC&OE team to meet business objectives.
About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 1-4 years' experience.
- Proficient with spoken and written English.
- Experience using Word, Excel, and Visio, and following template requirements for technical documentation.
- Ability to complete tasks independently with general supervision.
- Quick learner with logical mindset.
- Experience using style guides.
- Excellent attention to detail, and good prioritization skills.
Highly regarded:
- Proven experience in Technical writing and documentation.
- PLM Part Configuration experience essential, Windchill preferred.
- Change experience and basic understanding of change process, triggers, and cycle preferred.
- Previous experience in regulated manufacturing industry will be ideal.
