About the role:
As a Quality Engineer in our team, you will champion quality across our API applications and products.
Your responsibilities will include improving quality practices, focusing on test automation, and developing automation test frameworks and tools that will help drive self-service.
You will help shape our automation testing and quality strategy, covering multiple teams. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies.

Review requirements for testability

Produce to test plans and strategy documents

Collaborate with developers, business analysts and users to understand testing needs and identify automation opportunities

Contribute to the continuous improvement of test quality by undertaking reviews and recommending improvements
-
Possess a solid understanding of modern application deployment methodologies and cloud infrastructure
-
Identify test conditions/ test objectives and derive test cases using advanced test techniques.

Utilise appropriate tools to execute test cases and report results
-
Raise, track and close defects
-
Set up a defect lifecycle process when required

Report results as required to managers across the business

Capable of working with Agile methodologies, collaborating with and across teams as required.
Who we're looking for:
This is a hands-on role that will see you conducting manual and automated testing, creating and maintaining automation scripts, and reporting defects and enhancements.
You are the contact point for business stakeholders in the functional and operational QE phases so strong communication and the ability to build positive relationships in the business is critical. You will bring a pragmatic and positive approach to your work and enjoy championing the QE function throughout the wider business.
You’ll need:

Demonstrated experience as a Quality Engineer with a focus on backend systems, APIs as well as front end applications
-
Experienced in Iterative or Agile development practices
-
Familiarity with Tosca, Cypress framework with javascript/typescript, TestNG, Postman or Bruno. Performance testing frameworks are desirable.

Proven ability to research and troubleshoot bugs and performance issues in a production environment
-
Comprehensive understanding and experience with various testing methods, including Unit, Integration, System, End-to-end, UAT, and PVT
-
Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as Azure
-
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and database technologies such as SQL
-
Understanding on how to distribute and structure tests at different levels
-
Experience with collaborative programming alongside developers and functional testers in automation testing
-
Familiarity with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Teams for effective team communication and project management
