Reporting to the Coordinator Marketing, the Marketing Officer works closely with the Public Library Program branch to provide dedicated marketing services for the First 5 Forever program. The scope of work includes contributing to the success of the First 5 Forever webpages, subscription service, partnerships, marketing collateral and resources, and help and marketing advice to partiipating public libraries.
Duties and responsibilities
- Delivering high quality marketing services to support external corporate branding, key organisational messaging while meeting State Library's strategic commitments
- Participating in a high performing Marketing team in the delivery of creative products and services while ensuring innovative and client focused strategies. This includes undertaking day to day work, achieving key service objectives and meeting organisational priorities
- Designing and implementing marketing campaigns to promote State Library resources, services and public programs including developing materials supporting the State Library brand to ensure consistent and effective messaging to targeted audiences across multiple media platforms
- Coordinating, developing and creating diverse marketing resources for targeted campaigns, exhibitions and community activities. This includes developing advertisements, promotional materials in collaboration with internal clients to ensure clear and engaging communication
- Collaborating and building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, government and public library staff to ensure that marketing materials are targeted, relevant and appropriate for the intended audience. This includes researching audience needs, keeping up to date on audience and market trends to inform the development of an evidence-based marketing strategy
- Contributing to the team annual program schedule and participating in the Branch planning process to ensure that relevant, appropriate and meaningful activities are delivered to the community and clients
- Participating in internal committees, projects and working groups while collaborating with other teams across State Library. Providing high quality stakeholder engagement by ensuring State Library is represented in various forums including working with staff across different levels and roles
- Contributing to business improvement activities ensuring relevant policies, procedures and guidelines meet best practice and State Library requirements. This includes a continuous improvement cycle for feedback, raising concerns and generating solutions
- Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty. This includes being a proactive member of the Marketing team and the Marketing & Communications branch
- Participating in, contributing to and/or managing financial, human resource and/or ICT responsibilities as per the organisational delegations.
