The role
The Artist Marketing & Content Coordinator role is part of the team responsible for creating compelling marketing campaigns and content for our Catalogue roster (all UMG music that has been released for more than 2 years) and our Classics & Jazz new release / catalogue projects and platforms.
The department markets and designs a wide range of projects and this role is crucial in providing content creation and administrative support to the wider team.
- In coordination with team members, create engaging content for our artists across all social, online, music and other relevant platforms
- Provide administrative support to immediate team and assigned UMA colleagues
- Assist in realising the value of Universal Music Australia's repertoire to deliver commercial, promotional and artist outcomes
- Key liaison with internal finance team for invoicing and other related items
- Liaise & coordinate with International labels and International artist teams where applicable
- Liaise & coordinate with local Australian artist teams and distribution partners where applicable
Content creation
- Responsible for the creation of shareable and engaging content that resonates with audiences across artist, label and external channels.
- Create marketing assets (social, video, audio, outdoor, print) for marketing and promotional purposes for all campaigns.
- Creation and implementation of eDMs.
- Posting across UMA social media channels.
- Assisting wider team with ad hoc creative duties.
- Must develop the ability to analyse and optimize the various distribution options available in order to grow engaged audiences for our artists.
- Ensure content is monetized wherever possible and that content complies with operational requirements of Universal Music Australia and government legislation covering privacy, spam and copyright laws.
- Manage the balance between fan interest, content and commercial interests to maximize user consumption and engagement.
- Maintain and enforce company and artist style guidelines as well as content quality across all channels.
- Work with Digital Optimisers to exploit influencer marketing channels and support its implementation.
- Support artists in the management of social content calendars, social coverage and live event activation.
Administrative
- Raising purchase order numbers for related invoices – key liaison with finance team.
- Support team with organising internal and external meetings.
- Assist with artist events and activations when necessary.
- Assistance with scheduling physical products in internal systems and other associated tasks for setting up physical releases.
- Assistance with administrative tasks for eCOM initiatives and platforms.
- Creating PowerPoint presentations and templates.
About you
- Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe editing suites (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects) and other design platforms
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Windows, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge and interest in social media and digital advertising platforms
- High level of creativity, innovation and enthusiasm
- Superior relationship, communication and problem-solving skills, ensuring effective relationships across the team and other business units.
- Excellent time management skills, planning and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-starting, pro-active and outwardly enthusiastic.
- Willing to work outside the hours of 9-5 when required.
- Passion for and knowledge of music across all genres
- Audio editing, photography and video skills are desirable
- Relevant qualification in digital and video production, marketing and communications or other relevant arts
- Current Driver license
