The right applicant will join our core administrative team to deliver consistently high-quality administration services to our paediatric specialist health care providers and to the children and their families in their care. As part of this core team, you will support and lead additional casual staff in delivering these services.

Medical Administrator and Receptionist Role Details:
Our practice provides administrative support and management services to specialist medical providers. These practitioners provide care regarding health, developmental and behavioural concerns in children from birth to late adolescence. The successful applicant should be interested in growing a career in health administration and management. They will also be someone who wants to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients, their parents and our doctors and teammates each day.
Hours: We are seeking candidates interested in working approximately 30 to 38 hours per week on a casual or permanent basis. The role will be paid at or above the Award rate, in line with the experience and skills of the successful candidate. We may also consider motivated university students who wish to work fewer hours.
Staff are normally rostered to cover shifts of varied lengths between the practice's opening hours of 8.00am to 6.30 pm each day. Please address any issues or preferences regarding availability for these times in your cover letter.
Location: Our rooms are located in the inner eastern and inner northern suburbs of Adelaide and you may be required to work across several clinics. You may also be able to work from home on agreement with management and after sufficient training and experience, subject to our operational needs and security and privacy requirements.
Duties include:
- General reception and administration tasks.
- Communication and liaison with practice team members, doctors and families in person, via phone, email and other messaging systems as per procedure.
- Light cleaning, tidying and general maintenance of a comfortable, clean, hygienic and organised environment as per procedure.
- Immediate cleaning of any spills/mess associated with the medical & paediatric nature of the practice.
- Performing all duties within patient & practitioner confidentiality requirements of the law and healthcare ethics and seeking direction where unclear or circumstances are not typical.
Desirable qualities:
- Medical reception and/or administrative experience or another team, customer or client-oriented experience.
- Knowledge of Genie medical software or similar.
- Tertiary education relevant to health administration, business management, or similar.
If required by law, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Evidence of vaccination will need to be supplied by the successful candidate.
