Your role

We are seeking a Senior Web Developer to fill a new role in our Marketing team, focussed on performing a range of website development and technical tasks on our agile digital backlog. You will complete front and back-end development tasks on our agile digital backlog, and also work with agency and consulting partners to deliver technical solutions. You will also have responsibility as a technical lead, independently leading technical discussions with internal and external experts to guide and provide solutions for the effective completion of development work.
This role sits within our wider Marketing & Client Services (MCS) department. The MCS team comprises marketing, communication and digital specialists, in areas such as digital and design, communication, media and content; marketing and campaigns; events and networks and business development specialists.
As a Senior Web Developer in the Design and Digital CX team you will:
Front-End Development
Develop, optimise and configure front-end changes to website pages and functionality, landing pages, email templates, and forms, with a focus on our key platform – Optimizely CMS and Marketo.
Produce and maintain front end code using advanced expertise in frontend technologies, such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and modern frontend frameworks, based on designs provided, ensuring compatibility across multiple browsers and platforms (desktop and mobile).
Back-End Development
In collaboration with agency partners, develop and implement website components in Optimizely CMS using C# ASP.NET, MVC, and SQL programming.
Technical solution design
Lead technical discussions internally and with vendors and collaborate with external technical experts to deliver solutions.
Assess technical feasibility and contribute to technical solutions for new requirements.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Constantly evolve practices in line with changes in this fast-paced space.

About you
You will have:
Experience
Mid-level experience as a Full Stack Developer (this might look like 5 – 10 years' experience)
Experience within a professional services firm, marketing agency or other corporate organisation with complex stakeholder management.
Proficiency in Microsoft tech stack C# ASP.NET, MVC, SQL. with experience in a .NET based enterprise CMS or DXP (eg Sitecore, Optimizely, Episerver, Kentico, Umbraco)
Expertise in frontend technologies, such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery and modern front-end frameworks and web standards.
Experience working with API integrations.
Familiarity with UX principles & SEO requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Experience working with external vendors and agencies.
Strong project management and communication skills.
A passion for staying current with emerging trends and best practice in Web Development – including skills, processes and technological advancements.
Experience working with Optimizely CMS, Marketo and Figma would be beneficial
A Bachelor’s degree in IT or Engineering with a major in Digital Web Development is desirable but not essential.
