The Opportunity
We are seeking a Real Estate Solicitor to join our new, global, Digital Legal Delivery practice to be based in Melbourne or Sydney.
As a Solicitor in the Real Estate team within our Digital practice, you will contribute to the team's excellent client service delivery, and will play a significant role in the team's ongoing success and continued growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for Digital’s real estate legal work, including Digital’s volume leasing matters (commercial, industrial and retail); and due diligence and transaction support.
Working closely with the Manager, your role will include:
Leasing: Deliver high-quality work and handle a high volume of leasing matters across commercial, industrial, and retail sectors. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating leases and related documents, as well as preparing lease reviews and summaries.
Mentoring: Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing regular feedback as part of structured coaching meetings.
Client Communication: Establish and maintain strong relationships as a client contact with key stakeholders from a number of clients you will regularly deal with.
Teamwork and Relationship Building: Collaborate and work closely with your team members across both Sydney and Melbourne offices, as well as the firm’s global network to deliver high-quality work on more complex and larger deals.
Innovation: Support the design and implementation of tech-driven improvements and processes for improved efficiencies, as well as matter management and reporting.
Technical and Knowledge Excellence: Stay up-to-date with relevant areas of law and act as an emerging technical expert in those areas, supported by the firm’s excellent knowledge and training resources.
Firm Values: Uphold the firm’s values, contribute to firm initiatives, and cultivate an excellent reputation and profile both in the market and internally.
In addition to this you will be expected to:
Make recommendations for improvements in the quality and efficiency of service delivery. In doing so, you will be supported to explore/challenge how legal technology (such as artificial intelligence software, contract automation, and collaboration portals) and legal process can drive efficiencies for HSF and our clients.
Work as part of the broader Digital team including being a key contact for Real Estate in Australia and across our global network.
Provide any other assistance to the business on client matters and related tasks as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
ideally 2+ years' of property/leasing experience.
a current unrestricted practicing certificate.
leasing experience to include drafting and negotiating leases and related documents. Experience working in a high volume leasing practice will be highly regarded.
experience in undertaking due diligence exercises as part of property and corporate transactions.
solid technical legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and matter management skills.
excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team;
have a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.
