About Good News Lutheran College
Good News Lutheran College is situated on 20 acres in Tarneit, approximately 30 kms from the Melbourne CBD and has landscaped gardens, recreational spaces surrounding classrooms and buildings. The College also has a gymnasium, chapel, and sports ovals, along with new and modern facilities for Technologies, Science and Arts.
Good News Lutheran College aims to provide an educational pathway for each student by focusing on strong Christian values. Staff members of Good News Lutheran College share a vision of working with parents to support their children as they grow and develop. While offering support, teachers encourage students to take responsibility for their own decisions and to form their own attitudes and opinions about life.
The College has grown significantly from a small group of 24 students who commenced in 1997, to its first Year 12s graduating at the end of 2016, and the 1000+ students on campus today.
About the Role
The Digital Learning Coordinator/POR will play a pivotal role in enhancing the College’s digital landscape and enriching the educational experience for both staff and students across the Mambourin and Tarneit campuses. Collaborating closely with the Heads of Learning, Marketing, Leadership Teams, and IT, the Coordinator will develop and align a comprehensive digital strategy aimed at improving learning processes and communication.
Key responsibilities include:
Digital Strategy Development: Crafting a scalable digital strategy that aligns with the College’s pedagogy and sets clear milestones for implementation.
User Experience Improvement: Enhancing digital platforms to streamline workflows and communication for teachers and students, while creating templates that ensure consistency in program delivery.
Parent Engagement: Improving parental access to information through intuitive platforms and providing training to foster effective home-school communication.
Collaboration and Support: Working with educational leaders to integrate technology into the curriculum, co-developing professional development plans for staff, and ensuring the retention of corporate knowledge.
Program Development Templates: Creating uniform digital templates to promote consistency across educational programs in alignment with best practices.
Teacher Champion Program: Establishing a network of "teacher champions" who will mentor colleagues and further embed digital learning practices, supported by designated teaching allowances.
This role is crucial for driving digital innovation and fostering a collaborative learning environment that empowers both educators and students.
Selection Criteria
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Digital Learning, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing digital strategies in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of current digital learning tools and trends.
- Familiarity with aligning digital tools with pedagogical approaches.
- Commitment to the Christian Ethos of the College
- Experience in training and mentoring educators, with a focus on integrating technology into teaching practices.
- Have excellent relationship and communication skills
