The Senior Business Partner is a key advisor to the Faculty/Division leadership team, supporting the development of the Faculty/Division IT strategy and the IT technology roadmap. The Senior Business Partner is a strong leader and facilitator. They work with the Faculty/ Domain and collaboratively with the Enterprise Architecture team to clearly understand its IT priorities and ensures that these priorities are taken into consideration during the IT Portfolio Board prioritisation.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Engage with all of the key stakeholders to support the development of the Faculty/ Division IT strategy and prioritised technology roadmap.
- Engage with the Faculty/ Division to communicate the Enterprise level IT products and services catalogue.
- Work with Faculty/ Division leadership team to identify technology innovations that can drive value and provide advice and recommendations on the future state roadmap.
- When required attend Faculty/ Division leadership team meetings, having a seat at the table and provide IT strategic advice, support and guidance.
- Work closely with key stakeholders e.g., Faculty Executive Directors, Heads of School and School Managers to embed the IT service model.
- Report monthly via a detailed Faculty/ Division business report on key IT deliverables.
- In conjunction with the Director and other IT Managers, set, operate, monitor and evaluate the strategic and annual objectives for the team.
- Work with Portfolio Executives to report a clear picture of the overall Academic, Research & Education portfolio for IT.
- Ensure UNSW Service Catalogue is aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Work with stakeholders to negotiate the Operational Level Agreements for IT Services.
- Provide oversight to Faculty/ Division projects to ensure that integrity of operational services is maintained.
- Act as the Faculty/ Division representative to the Change Advisory Board (CAB), Customer Service Forum and other operational forums.
- Own the resolution of escalated issues across service delivery teams for the portfolio.
- Be responsible for the development of standard operating procedures, process methodology, technology models and the centre of excellence knowledge content for strategy development, execution and business partnering.
- Work with IT and other experts across UNSW to support the development of future technology forums.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted and collaborative relationships and harness communication between the Faculty/ Division and IT.
- Ensure hazards and risks are identified and controlled for tasks, projects and activities that pose a health and safety risk within your area of responsibility.
- Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university.
Who you are:
- Tertiary qualification with significant experience in technology related roles.
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management at senior leadership levels.
- Strong experience leading and motivating a team of IT professionals.
- Solution focused with the ability to demonstrate high levels of negotiation and consultation expertise.
- High level of communication skills with customer experience required for negotiating and aligning with stakeholder needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective reports that articulate the current state of actual, delivery, future requirements, risk and issues.
- Experience overseeing projects while maintaining integrity of operational services.
- Experience leading the resolution of escalated issues across service delivery teams.
- Experience developing standard operating procedures, process methodology, technology models and documentation related to strategy and business partnering.
- Experience developing technology forums and communities of practice.
- Experience building and maintaining strong, trusted and collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of the tertiary education sector, trends and challenges.
