We’re searching for an Assistant Accountant to join the team. Reporting to our Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll work to maintain an environment of strong financial controls and utilise technology to streamline processes.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU...
- Have an accounting degree
- 1-2 years of working experience in a finance role
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Can work both autonomously and within a collaborative team environment
- Know how to prioritise tasks, research when you need to learn something and when the right time to ask for help is
- Know your way around spreadsheets (lookups, if functions, and pivot tables are not foreign to you)
- Have the curiosity to investigate why something isn’t working within a system and the ability to find solutions to fix it
- Want to work for a company that cares about doing good things for the world
IF YOU WERE HERE LAST MONTH YOU MIGHT HAVE...
- Worked with the Senior Financial Accountant on our end of month balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepared bank account reconciliations
- Processed accounts payable invoices, escalated accounts receivable issues and collaborated with our sales teams to review and take action on specific receivables
- Calculated monthly KPIs like DSO and liaised with external debt collectors
- Checked freight and warehousing charges for discrepancies against the benchmarks
- Met with one of our department managers to review monthly expense reporting
- Assisted some wholesale customers with invoice queries
- Noticed a process that could be improved in our ERP system Netsuite and made an improvement to allow for better system efficiency
- Assisted the Finance Manager with an ad hoc project such as a profitability analysis or gathering data for an audit
- Joined our company-wide all-eyes event to learn more about the business as a whole
