About the team
The Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team at Airwallex is a collaborative group of legal minds and risk management experts. We’re passionate about safeguarding Airwallex’s operations, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct, and ensuring we navigate the global financial landscape with integrity. We provide expert guidance and support to all areas of the business, proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing legal and financial risks.
What you’ll do
The Manager/Senior Manager, Payment Partner Risk sits within Airwallex’s second line Risk team and serves as the subject matter expert on financial partner and card scheme rules and requirements. You will have responsibility for providing cross functional guidance on financial partner requirements and the Group Acceptable Use Policy, helping to quickly evaluate new sales prospects or products. This will require a balanced approach to achieve business objectives within risk appetite.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to advise on financial partner requirements, and help to establish and enforce Airwallex’s acceptable use policy across multiple payment products and geographies.
- Act as an expert in the card scheme rules for our major international card scheme partners.
- Define restricted and prohibited business lists.
- Provide guidance on financial partner requirements to first line teams and assist them on exploring, understanding and accommodating time sensitive business opportunities.
- Assist in driving any product or process changes in order to monitor and mitigate payment partner risks.
- Create guidelines, checklists and other support material for Sales teams to quickly evaluate new prospects in terms of scheme compliance and partner requirements.
Who you are
We’re looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a payments related role, risk or compliance function. Candidates with more experience may be considered for Senior Manager.
- Experience in policy formulation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate and help non-experts understand applicable requirements.
- Strong writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to generate original documents suitable for sharing directly with regulators and financial partners.
- Excellent investigative and analytical skills to identify trends and insights.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment by multitasking effortlessly and managing competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive results.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of card scheme requirements is strongly preferred.
- Fintech experience preferred.
