What to Expect
Join the Engineering team at Tesla Energy and contribute to world-class products like Powerwall, Megapack, and Supercharger. In this role, you will work with engineering and service teams, taking ownership of mechanical engineering challenges across the APAC region. This role demands a multi-disciplinary approach to identifying, analysing, diagnosing, resolving, and reporting on issues affecting our Energy Products.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the APAC escalation point for all mechanical engineering-related matters, including structural integrity, load path analysis, safety factors, and failure mode evaluation.
- Collaborate with the Failure Analysis team to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate with engineering, factory quality, and suppliers to develop and integrate containment actions and corrective measures into production processes.
- Lead containment activities and drive timely execution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and codes.
- Analyse thermal performance, including heat transfer, dissipation, and material endurance under high-temperature conditions, ensuring product reliability, and preventing material degradation or burn-through.
- Monitor field performance of engineering systems, prioritize improvement initiatives, and advocate for urgency with engineering leadership.
- Provide design feedback during reviews (e.g., DFMEAs) based on insights from field performance, reliability data, and factory quality issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including preventive actions and lessons learned.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
- Chartered Engineer status or eligibility to pursue certification.
- A strong technical foundation with proven experience collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, service, and supplier teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in tools and business systems for data management, analysis, and interpretation.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
