About the Role:
As an Engineer III at Envato, you'll play a pivotal role in building, deploying, and supporting Envato’s flagship product, Elements. Working within a Find Experience Team under the Search and Content Domain, you'll collaborate with product designers and analysts to explore new features and enhancements, analyze and refine requirements, and deliver high-quality, well-tested code. Your work doesn’t stop at delivery—you'll also take ownership of supporting your code in a production environment. Elements is our subscription-based digital asset platform, offering a vast library of creative resources to empower designers and creatives to bring their ideas to life. The Find Experience Teams play a critical role in captivating the hearts and minds of creative professionals by enhancing Elements with innovative and upgraded experiences that make it a true one-stop shop. These teams are dedicated to delivering customer value with focus, speed, and a relentless commitment to maintaining quality and high standards.
What you’ll be doing:
- Understand and translate business requirements into customer-focused technical solutions.
- Write high-quality, testable code, leveraging Test-Driven Development (TDD) when appropriate.
- Follow modern development practices and adhere to established design principles.
- Promote version control best practices, committing code frequently to support iterative progress.
- Drive continuous improvement through incremental changes, integration, and deployments.
- Take ownership of functionality verification, and troubleshoot production issues, including participating in on-call responsibilities.
- Conduct constructive peer reviews to uphold code quality and share ownership of team deliverables.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, delivering tasks independently and as part of the team.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes, solve problems, and foster team harmony.
- Develop sustainable solutions, considering diverse perspectives and long-term impacts.
- Build domain knowledge to ensure technical solutions align with company goals and customer needs.
- Actively participate in team meetings and retrospectives, contributing to productive discussions.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where all voices are valued and respected.
About you:
- Likely to have 2+ years of experience in web and/or software development ideally focused on dynamic, public-facing applications.
- Proficient in server-side and client-side programming, with preferred technical skills including
- React or similar framework
- HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
- Some exposure to back-end technologies like Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Communicates and collaborates effectively, and actively participates in pairing with other engineers.
- Provides constructive feedback and values diverse perspectives within the team.
- Demonstrates a proactive commitment to continuous improvement, seeking feedback and opportunities to enhance skills, processes, and outcomes.
- Upholds integrity and transparency, embodying Envato’s core values in interactions and project work.
