We are seeking a Social Media Officer to join Communications and Government Relations, Engagement, Chancellery Division.
The Communications and Government Relations Department is seeking a Social Media Officer to contribute to QUT’s social media strategy and assist in the content creation across various social media platforms. The Social Media Officer will contribute to the execution of creative, timely, and engaging digital content using a variety of formats for the relevant social media platforms to enhance QUT’s reputation both nationally and internationally. The position sits within the QUT Media and Corporate Communication Team. The successful candidate will assist the Social Media Team Leader in the daily management of comments, social media enquiries and will contribute to corporate projects and events. The position will work with other QUT teams and departments to obtain and collate social media content as well as assist with curation of user generated content.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree combined with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a social media capacity in a corporate, media or university setting.
- Demonstrated digital literacy skills including working familiarity with social media channels (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and the ability to create and upload content using social media tools.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to and execute best practice social media strategies, plans and tactics including the ability to produce engaging organisational content including videos and photos.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to tailor communication as appropriate to the audience and platform.
- Ability to work proactively, as part of a team or independently, while responding and adapting quickly in a changing environment.
