The Senior Business Analyst will support the delivery of key projects and lead coordination of software and system changes focusing on business processes, new products, and operational improvements. As part of the Airline Operations Technology team, you will work with the business to support projects and initiatives from ideation to completion. This role may entail escalation of Operational Support for critical applications under the portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Applying best practice BA methodologies including effective use of data and process modelling, to clearly define business and system requirements
- Liaising with technical delivery teams and vendors to deliver outcomes
- Facilitating stakeholder meetings to communicate updates and drive project outcomes
- Analysing and designing solutions, working with product owners and architecture team to document solutions that meet business requirements
- Coordinating with technical delivery/development teams and vendors
- Validating and testing changes, working with users and testing teams to complete testing, and support Testing and Quality Assurance through documentation of testable requirements
- Managing software changes and releases, including preparing delivery and implementation plans and managing application configurations
- Planning and executing implementation/cutover activities
- Evaluating planned system and software changes to minimise risk and operation issues, ensuring changes are documented according to IT Change Management processes.
- Documenting existing and new processes as required, promoting standard operating procedures and updating the team’s knowledge base and delivery templates
- Providing additional support to systems support teams when needed
- Where required, assist with planning and managing system implementation including user training, change and communication planning and delivery
You’ll have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a business analyst role
- Tertiary qualification in business / Information Technology and/or CBAP beneficial
- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies to deliver successful outcomes in large-scale IT project initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Ability to analyse quantitative data to pinpoint problems and opportunities
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex thoughts and ideas clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand commercial, operational and customer experience impact
- Airline or travel industry experience is desired
