How will I help?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Quality Engineer to come and join a newly formed team tasked with building a simpler, highly resilient, always on payments platform for the Westpac Group. The Quality Engineer role will be vital to enable the team to move quickly and safely, helping guide the team and broader platform in the best practices when it comes to the automating of testing.
Payments play a crucial part in everyday banking and with it comes the challenge and pressure of ensuring your changes and solutions are fit for purpose. You will be given the opportunity to use your experiences and industry standards to constantly deliver small and incremental changes. You should have an appreciation and opinion on what good looks like and willing to speak up and share your opinion whilst listen to the others around you, collaboration, transparency and respect are key to be successful in this role.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Own the platforms automated test approach from planning to implementation
- Work with up and down streams services and implement strategies to remove dependencies for both development, testing and delivery.
- Provide appropriate automated reporting to prove the platform is meeting both it’s functional and non-functional requirements
- Build, maintain and deploy a fully automated test suite at the service and platform level
- Work with the engineers building the service to guide and educate on the testing best practices
- Ensure everything that is built, deployed and released is fully traceable and follows Westpac’s ways of working
- Drive a testing first mindset – promote and demonstrate what shift left truly means
