The Gold Coast Engineering team is responsible for the technology that is the powerhouse for Consumer and Business Banking Digital Technology.
How will I help?
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, secure backend services using Java 14, Spring Boot, and other relevant frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with front-end engineers and designers to translate user stories into performant and user-friendly web applications.
- Create, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, ensuring seamless data exchange across platforms.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and participate in code reviews to guarantee code quality and maintainability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies and best practices, including Java 14 features.
- Foster a collaborative environment by actively participating in knowledge sharing and technical discussions.

What do I need?
- CI/CD Tools: Proficiency with tools like Bit, Bitbucket, Jenkins, or Bamboo for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
- Frontend Technologies: Expertise in React JS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Backend Technologies: Strong knowledge of Node JS and Spring Boot for building RESTful APIs.
- API Design: Understanding of RESTful API design principles and standards.
- API Security: Familiarity with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and JWT.
- Java Development: Proven experience as a Full Stack Java Developer with a solid understanding of Java principles and object-oriented programming.
- Databases: Experience with relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Testing and Version Control: Proficiency with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and version control systems like Git.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
