The REWS Global Design Team is looking for a Workplace Design Manager based in Sydney to cover Japan, Asia-Pacific and Australia-New Zealand (JAPAC). In this role, you will help shape high-quality, functional, and inspiring workplaces that enhance how our people work and connect. You will collaborate with top architects, designers, and furniture experts—alongside our in-house teams—to deliver environments that are thoughtful, innovative, and aligned with the needs of the business.

Your Impact:
The Workplace Design Manager JAPAC is a new position created to support the company’s continued growth abroad and will be our key design representative helping to fulfill on the One Salesforce Design vision across JAPAC. This is evermore critical as we continue to grow across the region. The role reports back to the Design organization in San Francisco and will require an excellent communicator and self-starter who can build strong relationships with regional Workplace Services (WPS) and Project Delivery teams as well as guide our local architects, design firms and furniture partners across the region.
Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver a consistent and holistic One Salesforce Design program throughout the region based on and adapted from well-established standards and guidelines

Represent the HQ design team in JAPAC for build-outs of employee floors and hospitality spaces throughout the phases of design, including local design reviews, workshops, page turns, mockups and punch walks

Further adapt global workplace standards for countries within JAPAC by working with local A&D and environmental graphics firms, furniture manufacturers, dealers and a broad range of internal Salesforce partners

Build trusted relationships and collaborate with all local WPS, business partners, security, health & safety, sustainability and accessibility teams to gather input and keep current with opportunities to adapt the design to the operations of the space; report back to the Standards team to incorporate updates as necessary.

Support M&A and on-going small and large refresh projects throughout the region

Support HQ with onboarding and reinforcing standards with in-region partners on One Salesforce Design; represent the team at FDOBs, Town Halls and other company events

Roll out various design initiatives, incl the physical ‘staging’ of our spaces for FDOB with accessories and ensuring the offices are up to date with the latest FF&E

Look for strategic opportunities to improve the design process, workflows and activities in-region to ensure more efficient delivery; present analyses, viewpoints and recommendations to management

Work closely with HQ and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions to complex issues

Monitor the efficacy of JAPAC workplace programs and be the voice of design on lessons learned and employee experience reviews; collaborate with Workplace Innovation and WPS teams on improvements in the space

Participate in Business Reviews with A&D and related firms and furniture partners
Experience and Skills:
-
Direct experience working with global design standards and an understanding of how to curate these standards and guidelines for local markets

Strong written and verbal communication skills to maintain alignment with the overall design vision and collaborate closely with the global design team—being flexible about working with US time zones

Design background managing the end to end execution of large, multi-phase commercial interior design projects, particularly in several JAPAC countries

Work independently, able to set priorities in a fast paced environment with multiple partners, internal team members and stakeholders of all levels

Must have a keen eye for detail and be adaptable to shifting project requirements often requiring multiple design options

Ability to conduct design reviews and QA/QC using 2D/3D sketches, plans and renderings

Interest in sustainability and healthy materials in the workplace

Good understanding of the FF&E process, including related industry guidelines and how to specify

Enjoy working with a diverse team from various disciplines, departments and companies every day

Can manage many tasks within condensed time frames; be flexible and pivot as required

Demonstrated understanding of architecture, interior design or related field in a commercial capacity

Experience with fast-growing technology companies and/or commercial or hospitality design firms

Computer skills in Google and Adobe suites; preference for Revit and AutoCAD

Moderate travel may be required as this role supports all of Japan and Asia-Pacific
