Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Art Director to join our team for a 12-month paternity leave cover. The Art Director is responsible for leading, creating and executing the visual design and creative direction of visually stunning designs that effectively answer the brief and communicate each brand's message to its target audience. This position requires a high level of creativity, people management, time management as well as an understanding of the latest design trends and techniques.
The Art Director will work closely with the Group Creative Director, designers, Project Managers, and other departments to ensure that all visual elements align with each company’s brand and messaging.
Day to day you will:
- Develop, maintain, and execute design concepts for a wide range of brands and mediums, including print and digital advertising, websites, social media, and branding
- Create design layouts, illustrations, and graphics that are visually appealing and in line with the company's overall aesthetic
- Generating clear ideas and concepts in tandem with the copywriter
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and techniques to ensure designs are fresh and relevant
- Ensure that all designs meet the company's brand guidelines
- Apply typography techniques
- Manage and mentor designers
- Forge strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, with the capability to influence and mediate to reach an optimum outcome for all parties
Note: This department is not directly responsible or involved with creating the shows that are famously seen on the Nine network.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a design role, preferably in a media or advertising agency
- An interest in AI technology and its applications in the design field
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of design skills and experience in the media space.
- Be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects and Adobe InDesign.
- Working knowledge in Figma
- Strong understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout principles
- Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A passion for design and a drive to stay current with the latest design trends, techniques, and emerging technologies like AI.
- Experience with Microsoft office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel
- A solutions-focused team player who is flexible and adaptable in responding to the needs of a project.
- Proven experience with having excellent organisational skills, with strength in planning and time-management
- Experience in delivering to strict deadlines and committed to exceeding expectations and working on multiple projects simultaneously and thriving in a fast-paced, creative environment.
