Job Description
The 9Predict data science team develops, builds and delivers data science products to provide audience forecasting and solutions to business problems. Key responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data, developing and implementing data science models, and communicating findings to stakeholders. We push the envelope in what is possible and work on new and novel implementations of data science techniques.
Major area of focus for the team is forecasting audiences across all of Nine’s assets (Metro TV, Regional TV, 9NOW and other channels) to more effectively monetise & yield manage commercial ad inventory.
Role Responsibilities:
- Analyse large and complex data sets to uncover insights and trends.
- Develop predictive models and algorithms.
- Collaborate with other data scientists and analysts to design and implement innovative solutions that support business objectives.
- Implement and maintain data pipelines and workflows.
- Conduct data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
- Create and present clear and concise reports, visualisations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Use data visualisation tools to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications
Essential qualifications, experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Graduate role or ideally 1 year of experience in data science or analytics roles desirable.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, scikit-learn, pandas, Gorgonia).
- Experience with working on time series.
- Experience with version control software like git or mercurial.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable qualifications, experience & skills
- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Big Query or Spark.
- Experience with more than one programming language.
- Understanding of media industry metrics and analytics.
- Experience in A/B testing and experimental design.
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in Kubernetes, Airflow, Spark, MLFlow etc.
