EnergyCo NSW is leading the delivery of renewable energy zones to provide clean, reliable and affordable electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
About the Opportunity
EnergyCo is looking for a Senior Communications Advisor, Digital to play a pivotal role in developing and executing digital content strategies that support EnergyCo’s renewable energy initiatives. This position is key in managing social media channels, producing high-quality digital content, and ensuring alignment with the company’s values and objectives. The role involves working closely with the community engagement and project teams to drive communication efforts across renewable energy zones (REZs).
In addition to content creation, the role includes responding to audience interactions, analysing performance metrics, and refining strategies to enhance engagement and accessibility. Working collaboratively across different teams, the Senior Communications Advisor Digital will help shape our communications strategy, contributing to the success of our projects.
The role will also support the development of communication and engagement strategies targeting communities, industry and NSW Government stakeholders. This includes preparing responses to enquiries, developing public facing messaging involving contentious issues and supporting internal and external communication needs. The role will need to understand complex project information and help simplify messaging for diverse stakeholder groups. Building strong internal and external relationships will be imperative to delivering high quality work.
Travel for work and occasional work outside of core business hours may be required to support on-the-ground communications efforts.
About You
You are a highly skilled communicator with excellent people and time management abilities, adept at juggling multiple priorities and competing demands. You excel in managing relationships with extremely busy stakeholders and project teams, ensuring that communication efforts are aligned and executed seamlessly. Accuracy is paramount in your work, particularly when handling complex content like interactive mapping and you understand the importance of delivering high-quality products.
You thrive in fast-paced environments and can balance tight timelines while maintaining a focus on delivering impactful, customer-centric content strategies. With a keen understanding of industry trends and best practices, you continuously refine your approach to stay ahead of emerging digital content demands. Experience with involves creating engaging content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and in using tools like Hootsuite and Monday.com will help you efficiently manage tasks and workflows. Above all, you’re able to build strong communication systems and risk management processes, protecting the company’s reputation and ensuring brand integrity in all your efforts.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in social media, public relations and/or equivalent experience.

Who we are?
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
