We have an exciting full-time permanent opportunity arise to join our Performance & Analytics team in an Analyst role. This role will support the Leader of Portfolio Analytics by providing analytical, reporting and technical support in the delivery of business intelligence, performance insight, operational performance and portfolio analytics across Suncorp NZ’s general insurance business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide fit for purpose technical solutions, modelling, reporting, analysis, insight, data mining and analytical tools.
- Contribute to commercially astute analytical driven insights and recommendations to support continuous business improvement and decision making.
- Communicate and present the outcomes of analyses to stakeholders in a way they understand.
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure delivery of business objectives.
- Contribute to design, build and deployment of data to support enterprise-wide reporting.
- Identification of opportunities for simplification and continuous improvement; taking ownership of implementing these opportunities.
What you will need to succeed:
- Tertiary qualification in statistical field or related mathematical/scientific fields
- OR 3+ years recent experience in insurance/analytics/pricing
- Exposure to managing small projects
- Technical competence with tools and analytic techniques - Office products (including Excel, Powerpoint, Word), Enterprise BI tools including Cognos and Tableau, SQL, Data visualisation concepts and techniques
- General Insurance knowledge desired
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to prepare and present reports and influence a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work as a contributing team member
