🚀 The role
We know that fear, stigma, and uncertainty keep too many people from accessing support. And, if you do get up the courage to reach out, finding support is like navigating a labyrinth.
At ThroughLine, we’re breaking down these barriers by building the front door for accessing emotional support — a conversational AI care navigator that provides personalised real-world referrals while easing the psychological barriers that often get in the way.
As Clinical Lead, you will ensure this experience is clinically safe, effective, and compliant.
Working closely with our Head of AI Product and software engineers, you’ll design conversational flows, implement safety protocols, and develop clear metrics to measure impact — all aimed at reducing fear and empowering people to take action.
You'll work with our team to refine and improve our AI, leveraging data-driven insights and user feedback.
While clinical quality will be your primary focus, you’ll also bring your product sense and skills to collaborate with others, ensuring a delightful product experience.
Beyond the product, you’ll represent ThroughLine’s clinical integrity to customers, providing expert advice to our partners and customers as they adopt and trust our products.
💫 What you’ll work on
You’ll make meaningful contributions by:
- Designing clinically sound and effective conversational AI experiences, while establishing clear metrics, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
- Analysing conversation data, clinical outcomes, and user feedback to continuously improve the experience.
- Providing clinical expertise to business customers, helping them get the most out of our products.
- Building and managing a global Clinical Advisory Board to guide strategy and ensure we’re providing an exceptional level of service.
- Educating and influencing to build a culture of clinical integrity into every part of our business.
💡 What you’ll bring
You’re a clinical expert with a deep hunger to apply your skills to scalable, real-world product experiences. Specifically:
Clinical and research expertise
- Clinical Psychologist with 5+ years of experience, well-versed in brief interventions and therapeutic frameworks (person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, ACT etc). Exposure to Single-Session Interventions is a bonus.
- Proven ability to develop mental health interventions and publish evidence of their impact.
- Proficient in data querying and analysis, with the ability to interpret clinical and user engagement data to drive insights.
Product skills
- Experience in building scalable and effective digital mental health products.
- You thrive when you're hands-on tackling challenges and have a proactive, solution-driven approach.
- Bonus: Experience in generative AI (prompt engineering, safety guardrails, human evaluation systems).

- You can adapt and reimagine traditional ethical and safety protocols for the unique context of digital experiences.
- You’re frustrated by the constraints of slow, bureaucratic ways of working and have the confidence to take calculated risks to develop new approaches.
