About the role
The Principal Platform Consultant provides high-level strategic direction and expert technical leadership, ensuring the successful delivery, optimisation, and evolution of the platform. This role is responsible for setting the vision for platform architecture, advising on industry best practices, and identifying opportunities to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the platform. The Principal Platform Consultant plays a key role in aligning technical solutions with overarching business goals, driving both short-term and long-term value.
By leveraging deep expertise in platform architecture, system design, and delivery methodologies, the Principal Platform Consultant ensures the platform operates efficiently, is scalable, and meets business and customer requirements. They provide mentorship and guidance to senior technical teams, shaping the technical direction of the platform and driving operational excellence across the organisation.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with the Platform Delivery Manager and Product Owner to provide strategic guidance and drive platform success
- Bridge the gap between strategy and execution, ensuring the platform evolves to meet business needs and operational excellence
- Shape and refine platform strategy to align with customer and business objectives
- Optimise delivery processes and team alignment for maximum efficiency
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring teams, and ensuring best practices in software development
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of experience in technology, including mentoring and leading technical teams
- Deep knowledge of software development and coding best practices, including hands-on coding, code reviews, and software development principles
- Proficiency in version control (Git), unit testing, CI/CD, and software deployment pipelines to ensure efficient, high-quality code delivery
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills across all levels
- Proven program and project management expertise
