This role is a key member of the Network Operations team, where you will lead the design and management of our network and security infrastructure as well as acting as a final escalation point for complex issues across the environment. This role reports to the Group Network Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining network performance and high availability by conducting regular monitoring checks, performance reviews, and troubleshooting as needed.
Implementing network segmentation and zone-based strategies to enhance security.
Designing and managing our enterprise wireless networks, ensuring robust coverage and availability.
Overseeing network security appliances and tools to ensure the environment is secured against Cyber Security threats and vulnerabilities.
Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation and design specifications for network infrastructure.
Automating network configuration and management tasks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Python.
Installing, configuring and managing the lifecycle of our network devices.
Establishing key network performance indicators across the environment and ensuring they are monitored.
Management and oversight of our network managed services team, including change review, and development of network policies and procedures.
Contributing to and performing network related project work as required.

Who are you?

Extensive knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Virtualization, Network, and Security practices.
Proficiency with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
Strong understanding of network design principles and patterns, with a minimum of CCIE-level expertise.
Expertise in dynamic routing protocols, specifically BGP, at a CCIE level.
Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS platforms.
Advanced skills in:
- Network performance analysis and troubleshooting tools.
- WAN Technologies - Prisma Access/Strata Cloud Manager, Remote Access VPN, MPLS.
- Load balancing technologies – Azure Load Balancing, Citrix ADC.
- Configuration management and version control systems - Git, Terraform.
- Identity and Network access control (NAC) systems - Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
Experience with Jira / Confluence and Agile methodology is highly desirable.
